Bad allergies aren’t going away anytime soon

Austin, TX – January 8, 2017 – This cedar season is expected to stay a little longer than usual and last until the end of February. Allergy sufferers should start stacking up their allergy medication because it’s going to be a long couple months.

“There’s a lot of reasons why this is happening and a big one is the cold snap we had a couple weeks ago,” Sunny Kallmer of Texan Allergy & Sinus Center said. “Cedar pollen is triggered to release from the cold weather, so that cold snap unleashed even more cedar than was already in the air.”

Everyone has a different level of allergic reaction to cedar, but this year there’s so much that even those with a mild allergy will be feeling the effects.
